The problem with …
The problem with today is that people do not appreciate the classical which is more complex than the majority of music produced today. tThis is not the machine that pushes out pop songs! Yeah you have the great blues masters, but still comes back to these type of influences.

I was meaning that …
I was meaning that there is a legend that Hendrix was asked shortly before he died how it felt to be the greatest guitarist in the world, to which he allegedly replied “I don’t know – ask Phil Keaggy” – Phil was relativly unknown at the time, as he was only 18 and was lead guitarist for Galss Harp, who had opened a number of concerts for bigger names, hence why Hendriz might have known of him. But I hadn’t heard Jimmy Page make the same comment.

No Hendrix is not …
No Hendrix is not the best not even close. Segovia destroys him. Steve Vai for that matter destroys him. Robert Johnson was a better player and a huge influence on Jimi himself as was Segovia on Hendrix as stated by Hendrix.

to play a classical …
to play a classical guitar and to play an extremely fuzzed boxed up electric guitar upside down with lots of wah are two completely different styles.
jimi has his place in the world because he was a pioneer to modern hard rock and metal… black sabbath who are considered the grandfathers of heavy metal were inspired and influenced by jimi hendrix
if you are rating guitarists by technical skill and not the music that they make, then steve vai owns all those guys u just mentioned (=

No offense Brother …
No offense Brother but Hendrix is no where near the best of all time. How can you say that. Segovia Blows him away. Django Reinhardt is far superior & So is Paco de Lucia & many other Great Classical Guitarist. Robert Johnson Mississippi Delta Blues Great Was greatest blues guitarist of all time better than Hendrix, Howlin Wolf was better, Wes Montgomery hands down was better, SRV was better, don’t care if he loved Hendrix. Chett Atkins was Better. No disrespect to U or Hendrix. Take Care. JMO

Great Guitarist are …
Great Guitarist are Great Guitarist. This is also why I cringe at people that say Jimi Hendrix is the Greatest Guitarist to ever walk Planet Earth. What a Halacious Laughable Joke. Too many Guitarist Better than Hendrix. To me Segovia is Tops. He alone brought the Guitar to the World Map & got more People to Play it than anyone anywhere. Segovia is the True Master. Take Care Bro.
