To all you guitarists out there, boys and girls. I have a Fender Stratocaster and an acoustic guitar. They’re both in good shape. I also LOVE to sing. Which one should I pick up and play? Not only that, but tell me what I can do to become a great guitarist?
1. Love what you do.
2. Take lessons on the acoustic. If you can play an acoustic well, you’ll be solid on an electric.
3. Practice. All day. Every day.
4. Learn to read tab AND sheet music.
Good luck!
Who are some great guitarists who were self-taught?

The Essential Guide To Guitar Virtuosity is not your typical guitar instructional ebook. It is not a theory book, or how to build guitar solos from scales, rather it is a guitar exercise training ebook.

you could sell your soul to the devil for the gift. it worked for Robert Johnson.
or you can practice on the accustic so that when you pick up the electric the strings will feel lighter and easier to manage.
also look up the penatonic scales online and just practice practice practice, and you’ll be great.
good luck buddy. I know you’ll be awesome

i started playing acoustic first for a couple months and then i started playing with my electric and i took lessons for about a year, now i just play from tabs and im pretty good, just practice A LOT if you want to get good, i know this one guy who played for only a year and could play all this crazy metal stuff with all the crazy noises, i had been playing for almost 3 years when i met him and i was no where near as good, i could play stuff if i practiced like modest mouse and blink-182 stuff, but there was one major difference why this was how it was, he practiced all the time, im real lazy with it and stuff

- Practice a lot, daily.
- Be open to new techniques. Don’t limit yourself.
- Research guitars so you know how they work, all that stuff.
- Watch instructional videos of guitarists doing things.
Play both. The choice is yours to make.
