an ilok is a little usb key that stores all of your softwares licenses. theyre like 40 bucks at guitar center, not sure what they are online. you need one for all the waves stuff and some others.

normally it’s better to put the guitar direct into the computer to get just the sound, a normal amp would “hear” too. But you should not use your computer’s soundcard for recording. It changes the sound… get a good interace for that!

This has different amps compared to Guitar Rig 3 and 4 as well as Amplitube and Revalver.
Get them all.
Use a host application like Apple’s Main Stage and you can use them all with Waves studio delay and reverb plugins as well.
Think outside of that box of one application and start thinking in terms of plugins.
I am a Guitar rig fanboi but I begrudgingly must admit that these amps sound fantastic and more alive than Guitar Rig 3. However, I haven’t tried GR4 yet.

the only way to record is a 3rd party program such as audition and use the gtr3 vst plugin on ur recorder guitar sound, i havent been able to play live and record at the sametime tho
